Registration & Transcript Information

Power School Registration (Formerly Infosnap) codes have been emailed to the primary parent email address we have on file.

Here are some commonly asked questions:

► I did not receive my snapcode.

• Double check that the email was not blocked by your SPAM filter. The sender is Infosnaphelp@dentonisd.org
• If you have provided more than one email address to the district, please check all email accounts.
• If you are still unable to locate your code, please send an email along with a copy of your photo ID to tmoore@dentonisd.org and/or jmejia@dentonisd.org. Our registrar/assistant registrar will send another code within one business day.

 ►I have forgotten my password

• Please enter your email, then click on the Forgot password below the Sign In box. You will then answer the security questions you created last year.
• If you cannot remember the answers to your security questions, you can request a new password. Please email that request to tmoore@dentonisd.org and/or jmejia@dentonisd.org
• Be sure to use the email address you received the Power School Registration code. I will send out a new password within one business day. 

► What if I don't have access to a computer?

• The Denton Public Library offers computers available for use by any Denton resident. Go to City of Denton Libraries to find the location closest to you. 

 ►I have completed my enrollment in PowerSchool Registration. What do I do now?

• You will need to print the verification forms and sign them. These forms will be returned to Braswell High School on your student's schedule pick-up day, along with a copy of the parent's photo ID and current proof of residency.

►What if I cannot make it to the campus on my student's schedule pick day?

• If the parent has completed the online update through PowerSchool Registration, they do not have to accompany their student to schedule pickup. They can send the required documents with their student or designee on their scheduled pick-up day.
• Students can come to their designated schedule pickup time or later posted times, but cannot pick up the schedule early.
• If you, your student, or designee are unable to make one of the above-listed dates, your student must bring these items to the campus on the first day of school. Your student will then receive their schedule

CHROMEBOOK ISSUED NEEDS TO BE RETURNED BEFORE WE RELEASE RECORDS

Before records can be released, Students must turn in all issued textbooks, Chromebooks, classroom-issued books, library books, parking permits, and return any equipment/uniforms issued by any coaches/directors. Any outstanding items, as well as fines incurred, must be paid in full to complete the withdrawal process. Payment must made to the bookkeeper and be in the form of cash or money orders. 

CHROMEBOOKS will be locked if they are not returned when your student is withdrawn.

Once the withdrawal process is complete, all items have been returned and all fees paid, parents will be given a student transcript and a copy of immunizations to be taken to the student's new school to facilitate enrollment. We can email you the packet or have it available for in-person pick up at the front office.

HOME SCHOOL

If your family is considering home school for your student, a listing of home school programs recognized and acknowledge their accreditation can be found HERE; this list is by no means comprehensive, so please reach out and we will verify your chosen program so your student's hard work at home school is honored, should they choose to return to Denton ISD.

If you student is seeking a home school program, please know that Denton ISD requires the completion of an Exhibit J which states that your student will be starting on a specified date; this informs the registrar's office on how we should expect the request for records for your student and helps assure that your student is being provided educational services.

Transcripts

Due to FERPA regulations, a parent/legal guardian can only request a transcript if the student is under the age of 18.

Each student has an academic achievement record with grades, graduation credits, class rank and standardized test scores recorded from the beginning of the freshman year. This record, a transcript, is required for admission by most secondary and post-secondary institutions as well as many scholarship applications and places of employment. Because transcripts are an official record, they are governed under state and federal laws. Here is the process to request your transcript:

Current Students
Transcripts will be issued after the student submits their request electronically through SchooLinks (located in your SSO/ClassLink). Official transcripts will be sent to post-secondary institutions electronically using a secure exchange system when possible. Students are able to download unofficial transcripts through SchooLinks, and may also request transcripts to be sent for Scholarships, NCAA/NAIA, etc. Students may track the status of their transcript requests directly through SchooLinks. 
 
Former Students
Transcripts will be issued after the student submits their written request, copy of valid photo ID, and fee, either in person or by mail, to Braswell High School. Complete the transcript REQUEST FORM and return to the Student Center. Official transcripts will be sent to post-secondary institutions electronically using a secure exchange system when possible. Unofficial transcripts will be issued directly to the student. We are unable to email transcripts. Each transcript will cost $2.00 cash or check. Checks made payable to Braswell High School. Please note that transcript requests will be processed within seven school days of receiving the transcript request. 

Student Records
In the normal course of business, Denton ISD collects records on all students.  These include, but are not limited to, immunizations, copies of birth certificate, attendance records, and enrollment records. These records are only maintained while the students are enrolled in Denton ISD.  All records are maintained and then shredded in accordance with the retention schedule set forth by the Texas State Library and Archives Commission. While the retention period varies by record, ALL records, except Braswell transcripts, are destroyed five years after the student leaves the district.
 
Universities, Schools and Businesses may fax request with a student release form to 940-347-6297.

If you need to update your student's information or add/remove a contact, we would like to assist you. Complete the form in the link below and return it to the registrar's office along with your photo ID. You can return it either in person, by email, or send it with your student. You will be able to view the updates in HAC within 48 hours of submission.

Please ONLY fill-in areas that are changes from the information we currently have. 

Physical Address: Proof of residence required on any address change. Please submit a copy of the current utility bill.
No changes can be made without new proof of residence.

Primary Guardian Email- for the safety and security of our students, the parent will need to return this form with a copy of valid photo ID to the campus.

Student Records Request

-SOCIAL SECURITY CARD REPLACEMENT:
Per the Social Security website, a school identification card may be accepted as proof of identity. Refer to their website for a list of additional forms of ID accepted before requesting a letter. List of accepted forms of identity for a SS card replacement

Identity

Your child: While you can use a birth certificate to prove age or citizenship, you cannot use it as proof of identity. Social Security needs evidence that shows the child continues to exist beyond the date of birth. We can accept only certain documents as proof of your child's identity. An acceptable document must show your child's name, identifying information (i.e., age, date of birth, or parents' names) and preferably a recent photograph. We generally can accept a non-photo identity document if it has enough information to identify the child (such as the child's name and age, date of birth or parents' names). We prefer to see the child's U.S. passport. If that document is not available, we may accept the child's:

• State Issued non-drivers identification card;
• Adoption decree;
• Doctor, clinic or hospital record;
• Religious record;
• School daycare center record; or
• School identification card.

-We require at least 48 hours (weekends/holidays NOT included), to process your letter.

-We may email you for additional information before processing the letter.
